A bus operator, customer service representative, or METRO Pass Vendor will require an individual to present ONE of the following when requesting a discount fare:

For Older Adults (at least 62 years of age):

• A METRO Discount Photo ID Card
• A METRO Paracruz ID Card
• A Discount Photo ID Card/Paratransit ID Card issued by another transit agency
• A Senior Citizen ID Card
• Identification that displays date of birth (e.g. passports & birth certificates)
• Current State Driver's License, or current State ID Card

For People with Disabilities:

• A METRO Discount Photo ID Card
• A METRO Paracruz ID Card
• A Discount Photo ID Card/Paratransit ID Card issued by another transit agency
• A Medicare ID Card
• A valid ID Card for a California Disabled Person Parking Placard
• A Disabled Veteran's ID Card
• Children (under age 18) of eligible people with disabilities can ride at the discount fare rate when accompanying their qualifying parent:
  • To qualify for this extended coverage, a parent must either fill out a Application Form available here, or obtain one at the Santa Cruz Metro Center (Pacific Station) Information Booth.
