MetroBase

Location:
The project is located on two sites within the Harvey West neighborhood in the City of Santa Cruz: one on River Street opposite Golf Club Drive and the other at Golf Club Drive west of River Street.

Project Description:
The proposed MetroBase facility consists of an operations and maintenance facility to support 98 buses. Project implementation will require the acquisition of two existing businesses. Proposed improvements on the River Street site include a new Liquified Compressed Natural Gas (LCNG) fueling station, a bus washing structure, renovation of the existing operations building to include a second floor, and reconfiguration of the parking and circulation areas. Improvements on the Golf Club Drive site consist of construction of a new 10-bay maintenance facility, renovation of the existing maintenance building, and reconfiguration of the parking and circulation.

Potential Impacts:
The MetroBase project would result in potentially significant impacts in the following areas: geology/soils, water quality, hazardous materials, biotic resources, cultural resources, noise, and air quality (dust).
