Travel Tips
The following are travel tips to help your ride on Santa Cruz Metro go easier.
Should you have any questions on any of the items shown, please feel free to contact
our METRO Information Line at 425-8600 for details.
- Dollar bills are acceptable in Metro fare boxes, but drivers cannot make change.
- At Metro Center, coin machines are located in the lobby and on Aisle B, and day passes
are sold at the Info Booth. Please do not ask Metro Center vendors for bus change.
- Effective June 14th, children below the height of 46 inches will be able to ride for
free. All buses will have a tape placed at the entrance to show this height. Thank
you for your cooperation in this matter. Please phone 425-8600 if you are planning
a bus trip with a large group of children.
- For passengers' safety, once the bus has left the curb, the driver cannot open the
doors to board passengers.
- Lost and Found items may be inquired for by calling Metro Information at 425-8600
or TDD 425-8993
- Animals are not allowed aboard Metro buses except in cages specifically designed for
the transporting of animals. Seeing-eye, signal, and service dogs are exempted from
this provision.
- Food & drink are permitted on the bus provided they are not easily spilled. Common
sense and cooperation with the driver in maintaining this policy is appreciated. The
consumption of alcohol and tobacco is not permitted on board Metro buses.
- Courtesy stops are made at the driver's discretion when the unmarked spot is considered
safe.
- No car batteries, firearms, gasoline cans, opened containers of alcoholic beverages,
or baggage exceeding 5 feet in length is allowed on board the bus (including fishing
rods, surfboards and skis). Baggage must be secured and cannot block the aisles.
