Discount Photo ID

METRO Discount Photo ID Cards are available to older adults and people with disabilities.

Card benefits:

  • Obtain METRO discount fares and purchase passes at the discount rate
  • Qualify for the discount rates offered by other transit agencies

Where to apply:

Criteria for Older Adults:

  • Must be at least 62 years of age.
  • Present ONE of the forms of identification for older adults:
    • A METRO Paracruz ID Card
    • A Discount Photo ID Card/Paratransit ID Card issued by another transit agency
    • A Senior Citizen ID Card
    • Identification that displays date of birth (e.g. passports & birth certificates)
    • Current State Driver's License, or current State ID Card

Criteria for People with Disabilities:

  • Must present ONE of the forms of identification for people with disabilities:
    • A METRO Paracruz ID Card
    • A Discount Photo ID Card/Paratransit ID Card issued by another transit agency
    • A Medicare ID Card
    • A valid ID Card for a California Disabled Person Parking Placard
    • A Disabled Veteran's ID Card
  • Or, must present a Discount Eligibility Form completed by a medical practitioner or other professional, verifying your disability

    • People with disabilities who require an attendant are only required to pay one discount rate fare

    • To qualify, your Discount Eligibility Form must indicate that you need an attendant

    • A green dot will then be placed on the Discount Photo ID Card that allows you to receive this benefit

  • Discount Eligibility Forms are also available at the Santa Cruz Metro Center (Pacific Station) Information Booth. Please call Customer Service during business hours

Fees For Processing and Replacements:

  • There will be a $2.00 charge to process a new Photo ID Card
  • $2.00 for the first replacement of a lost card
  • $5.00 for the replacement of a lost card thereafter
